Madame LaQueer is a drag queen from Season 4 of RuPaul’s Drag Race. It seems like just yesterday I was talking to Madame LaQueer about the possibility of bringing my photo series to RuPaul’s Drag Con. I called her on the phone and she convinced me that I could accomplish the feat, no matter what production obstacles stood in my way. Without her encouragement, this project may have not been possible. She’s a great friend and her photo is one of my favorites from the series. Here she is wearing a blood orange-colored leopard body suit with matching monochromatic makeup against a green backdrop. In this photo, she also has her hands up and mouth wide open in a smile, revealing her green-tinted braces. In post-production, we had the option to remove her braces. I insisted that we keep them in the photo. She’s a role model to young followers everywhere, showcasing that it’s ok to be imperfect. She embraces her imperfections and is constantly trying to be the best person she can be.
